Pumpkin season: Is it officially here or not?

So, friends, is it pumpkin season or not? I've seen on Facebook where some friends have actually had their first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season. I'm wanting one, but it's just not quite cold enough yet. What about you? Have you had a pumpkin treat yet, and if not, are you waiting for a particular weather or calendar event? Lord willing, I'll be going up to Wisconsin to visit family soon, and I have a feeling the cooler temps there will help speed up the arrival of my "fall."

I do love all the pumpkin treats of fall, so I was inspired to search old blog posts for pumpkin recipes. If you're looking for a new one to try, here are some I've enjoyed!

  1. I'm wishing for Fall. Your pumpkin walnut tea bread is my favorite fall recipe. Southern California is still experiencing East Coast HOT humid weather - last weekend we were still having 110 hot humid weather that was still 94 and humid at 9:00 at night. Now it's switched to low 80's and humid with desperately needed rain yesterday and today. Supposed to go up in the 90s again. No fall in sight but hopefully soon.

  2. We had a brief hint of fall here (two days), but summer is back and I'm like you, not quite ready for a Pumpkin Latte. I did note that Fresh Market had its pumpkin roll in the bakery. I almost brought one home and talked myself out of that yumminess!

  4. It's always pumpkin season. Am I the only one who loves a cold slice of yummy homemade pumpkin pie with a dollop of heavy cream whipped up for a topping? I love it year 'round.

It's going to get cooler tonight, yay. I love autumn and love cooler temps. Hugs.

  5. We had a bit of a 'cool' front blow through Texas last week, so I made pumpkin bread - so I think pumpkin season has definitely started for me. And I'm sure I'll have my first PSL of the season before too many more days pass :-) !

  7. Love everything pumpkin - and yes - can't wait for Fall! I must try your pumpkin bread recipe -- one of my favorites. I just made pumpkin muffins (just a spice cake mix and about 1/2 a can of pumpkin - no eggs - no oil etc! Mini muffins sometimes add golden raisins -- kids love them too! Yummy!

  11. Funny, but I saw a can of pumpkin at the market yesterday and almost bought it. Then I said to myself it is not quite pumpkin season, but yes I do believe it is. I must by some pumpkin for bread and get a pumpkin spice chai latte soon.

  13. I have not had any pumpkin stuff yet. But as soon as I get to Trader Joe's I'll buy a jar of their pumpkin butter (assuming it's out). So tasty.
