TeaZazz Sparkling Tea

In the what-will-they-think-of-next department, a California company has concocted a carbonated tea beverage. Yesterday I received a box with samples of four different flavors of this TeaZazz Sparkling Tea. I've tried only one so far, the Peach Tea, and although I'm more of a traditional hot tea kinda girl and wouldn't want this to be my "everyday tea," I have to say I thought it was a tasty and gutsy twist on the ever-growing RTD (ready to drink) market. Happily, this tea had just 20 calories per serving and contains sugar syrup rather than high fructose corn syrup. It was quite filling, so I didn't drink it all in one sitting, either.

The company calls this "a healthier alternative to soda" as well as a new way for tea drinkers to enjoy their tea. I'm quite open to that. When I'm shopping or out running errands, I don't always have a tea mug with me, and I occasionally opt to get bottled tea at a convenience store or perhaps a Starbucks. Recently I was at a Starbucks and grabbed a bottle of Tazo Tea's Iced Tea with Lemon. Now I can't say I've ever actually sipped Lemon-Fresh Pine-Sol after it's been used to mop the kitchen floor, but if I had, Tazo's Iced Tea with Lemon is what I imagine it would taste like. We won't be making *that* mistake again!

I would, however, be happy to drink this TeaZazz bottled tea again, and the $1.69 retail price for a 20-ounce bottle is quite good for the category. So what about you? Would you ever try a carbonated tea beverage? And if you're on the west coast and have already tried this new tea, what did you think of it?

  1. Hi Angela! I must say that the idea of a carbonated tea really does not appeal to me. In general I don't care for carbonated beverages and the idea of a bubbly tea even less so. I guess I can't make a definitive decision until I try it, though. Thanks for the review!

  2. I had seen another carbonated version - sans sugar - that I was eager to try, but I can't find it locally. It is an interesting concept.

  4. I bought this tea drink several months ago and, unfortunately, I didn't care for it at all. I can't even remember which flavor I tried. I thought it was a cool idea though, and am always on the look-out for new ways to enjoy tea.

  5. I tried the green tea mint at a Henry's sampling and then bought the Original Flavor at Albertsons and I think they are a great concept! I've often mixed perrier in my tea to help replace a soda and so I was really happy to find this!

  6. I tried it at a Jenson's sampling and thought it was pretty good as well! For 20 calories a serving it can't be beat. I'd rather get my caffeine from a natural source like tea then from an energy drink or something like that.

  7. I have tried all four flavors and have to say overall that I think it is a great product. My personal favorite is Peach Tea, but I also enjoy the Original Tea as well as the Green Tea with Lemon. The Green Tea with Mint is for someone who likes a stronger mint flavor than I do, but is not bad.
