Sometimes, it's good to be a Pinhead!

BOM-bom-BOM-bom-BOM-bom-BOM-bom ... Let the games begin!

The game I am talking about, though, is that of Olympic pin collecting. My collection now numbers approximately ... somewhere around ... well, one. I found this pin on eBay a few months back and decided I needed it to help celebrate the Olympics this year. I've long heard about the enormous pin collections that serious "Pinhead" collectors have amassed, including one collector who has 10,000 (!) of them, but my little teapot pin is enough for me.

A little googling will hook you up with lots of pin collecting links, where you can learn about famous Pinheads like Katie Couric, Ahmad Rashad and Jim Nabors. According to the maker of this pin, Aminco International, "Pin collecting and trading is a wonderful way to share the Olympic spirit of friendship and peace, dating back to the first modern games." Go, Team USA!

  1. I really like your teapot Olympic pin. This is something I don't seriously collect (I have maybe five from the 1996 games), but I would love to have one of the China teapot pins. Thanks for showing it to us.
