Recently I purchased a tearoom cookbook online, "The Pleasures and Treasures of Taking Tea at Miss Miss Mable's Tea Room," shown at left. This book was published in 2003, and I learned of its existence only after writing about the 2007 book at right, "Family Recipes from Miss Mable's Tea Room," which I purchased on a visit to this Tennessee tea room some years ago. To my surprise, when I purchased a copy of the older book, included in my package was a copy of the second Miss Mable's book as well!
Now I happen to have that book already, but I'm betting not everyone reading this blog does! So if you'd like to win this cookbook, just leave a comment to this post between now and 7 a.m. EST on Monday, August 12. Please be sure to include your e-mail address or a clickable link to your blog so I'll be able to contact you if you're the winner. Good luck!
Lovely give away, just in time for fall teas with the grandchildren after school. They come to grandma's two days a week off the bus and we have tea parties instead of snack.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice give-away. These books are so pretty you can leave them out for all to admire. My mother-in-law's name is Mabel which makes this even more special. Deb debsteckly@catlover.com
ReplyDeleteToo bad they didn't redo the pink cover which I like better but the other is lovely as well and a nice surprise to receive.

ReplyDeleteI am sure I would love winning this cookbook. I have even known of Mism Mable's tearoom from my past.
ReplyDeleteJust got back from visiting my mom in Tucson, and now I get to catch up with Tea With Friends. Those look like sweet books.
ReplyDeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteHow generous of you to give away, as a gift, one of your tea cookbooks. I am aways looking for recipes for tea time. I do work in a tearoom and get to see first hand how to make sweet treats, but making them myself is more fun: I get to eat and enjoy my own!
Kind regards,
Mrs. B
Ooooo...a tea room in Tennessee. I guess I'm going to have to do some sleuthing to see just where Miss Mable's is and how far away it is from where I live.
ReplyDeleteYour collection of tea room cookbooks has started me on a quest for finding some of my own. I have tons of cookbooks but not a one from a tea room that I know of. Since I'm thinking about holding teas on Tuesday starting in September I need to get on the ball and figure out just what I'm going to serve. A cookbook from a tea room would be a great help.
What a lovely and generous gesture on your part :) - as I don't have any tea room cookbooks, I'd love to welcome this one to my shelves. Early next month I'm going to visit my 91 year old mother who still lives across the country in her own home by herself - she'd always spelled her name as Mabel, but when she finally received a copy of her birth certificate several years ago, she found that her father had registered it as "Mable". We'll certainly have many cups of tea together during my visit ....
ReplyDeleteI would love to win a copy of this tea room cookbook. Thanks, Angela, for your blog. I enjoy reading it every day.
