A thrifty, nifty new teapot

Teacups often jump into my basket when I'm visiting antique stores and gift shops, but teapots? Not so much. Number One, they take up more storage and display space than teacups. Number Two, they're often a bit expensive. This one, from one of my favorite local haunts, What's in Store, was not!

But first, I had to love the design. Pretty, isn't it?

And as a bonus, I *really* loved the price. Think I'll have a nice pot of tea to celebrate!

  1. That's funny. They jump into my hands too. :)
This pot is a real cutie. Great shape and flowers.
The price is crazy but wouldn't be a bargain if you didn't love it and it sure is something to love. Glad it went to a good home. Tea celebration!

  2. How pretty. Love the shape and that price it would have gone with me too.Now I am on the hunt for a glass teapot with an infuser for my loose teas. Isn't "hunting" fun?
    Enjoy your new pot.

  3. That IS a good price! Love the pattern! I have WAY too many tea pots but I'm always looking . . . sigh! But most are way too expensive! You got a good deal -- a tea cup and saucer at that price would be a good deal much less a tea POT!

  4. Hello Angela
I've picked up a teapot myself with a longing look and then thought , where will I store it? Sometimes you have to give in to a good deal though and the price was right for this pretty new find.

  7. What a great find! I love thrifting. I rarely go or I'd be buried in fun stuff.

I found a beautiful ironstone pitcher for $1.50 yesterday at the local thrift store I volunteer at.(half price for me because I volunteer there) I thought they way under-priced it but I've been looking for one for awhile. It had just been set out that morning & I grabbed it up!

  8. My eyes always go straight to the teacups/teapots for some reason. Love the teapot, and the price can't be beat, how lucky you are.

  13. What a pretty tea pot, Angela! That would be hard to pass up and such a good price.

When I started collecting tea pots and tea cups (back in the late 1980's, early 1990's,) it seems like I got some incredible prices, compared to today's prices. I have enjoyed 'the hunt' and it's fun remembering where each item was purchased, along the way...Joanie
