The weekend's tea finds

Yesterday was my sweet niece Cari's 12th birthday, so on Saturday my mom and I went shopping with her so she could pick out some of her own gifts. We were in a Ross store together when I asked if Cari would mind if I looked for tea things, and she was happy to oblige. Not only that, she was first to spot this great garden-design teacup planter, which I just loved! It's about 7-1/2 inches in diameter, 4-1/2 inches tall, and will make a great container for starting seeds or holding a small plant. I haven't decided yet how it will be used, but it's definitely a must-have for the tea garden.

A month or two ago I saw this cute brown metal napkin holder at Ross, and of course I picked it up to check it out. I hardly ever use paper napkins in the kitchen, however, and decided I didn't really need it. Back it went on the shelf.

Then, a few weeks later, I began looking for a new organizer to hold the household bills, so this time when I saw the napkin holder I was seeing it with different eyes!

And finally, thanks to my friend ParTea Lady I knew to look for these teapot and teacup design PJ's that were on clearance. Yes! I scored the last pair, and in just my size. This, my friends, is what I plan to wear to the Royal Wedding Tea at my house on April 29.

Speaking of Royal Wedding Tea, the event, did you know Harney is now offering Royal Wedding Tea, the blend? I've already ordered a tin myself, and I wanted to make sure you knew about it too! (And if you do order, I wanted to mention that I found a 10% off coupon code at retailmenot.com. I NEVER order anything online without first seeing if there is a coupon available at Retail Me Not and have gotten lots of great discounts and/or free shipping this way!)

  2. Angela,
Such a lot of great things from one store. I don't usually think of Ross, since their advertisements usually say "Dress for less". I, too, had never heard of Retail Me Not, but thanks to you, it is now in my "Favorites" zone. One questtion: what search did you use on that site to find the Harney coupon?

  5. I love the tea PJ's. I have a set of flannel "tea" PJ's that I need to get out for "royal wedding" wear as well. Great idea!

  6. Cindy N., I hope this isn't too late in the day to be of help, but I simply typed "Harney" in the search field and then clicked on the Harney image that came up. The next screen actually shows the available coupons. Hope that helps!

Linda J., yes, I will be up by 3 a.m. for the "Royal Wedding Breakfast Tea" and have told my guests to arrive between 4-5 a.m., as they prefer! I can't wait!

  8. Tea-rific finds!!!

I bought the over-sized teacup/planter at my Ross last week, as well.

Mine has a Provencal theme ~ lavender, etc. I put it in my bathroom as a catch-all for alot of little things that clutter the counter. Much prettier to look at, and clears some of the clutter.

  10. Angela, you out did yourself this time! Great items, love the tea planter.

And thanks for the tip on Harney's Wedding Tea & for providing the link - I ordered some!

A Royal update: Entertainment Tonight is on location this week in England & they have some great 'Royal Connected reporters.' I've enjoyed their reports.

Also, CNN selected their 'Viewer Correspondent,' a young man from Orlando, Florida (his video entry featured his girlfriend who 'loves all things British.' He won a trip for two to England & will be reporting for CNN.*

*CNN is also having some contests & prizes for creative 'Royal Viewing Parties.' You may want to check out their website.

Have you seen the 'Wedding Spoof' video, featuring Royal
'look-alikes,' sprinting down a church aisle? It is hilarious & so well done, it looks like 'the real Royals!'

    Have a great week, Joanie
