Rosy tea and toast sets

Recently I came across some tea and toast sets in a design I'd not seen before. The rosy pattern is just lovely, and I wish I knew exactly how old these are. They look too old to be new but too new to be old, if that makes sense!

The rose design reminds me very much of Pierre Joseph Redouté's famous rose paintings.

But the real reason I bought two of these tea and toast sets is that they were made for Lord & Taylor, one of the famous department store chains I've been researching. If you're going to learn about Lord & Taylor, why not do it alongside a Lord & Taylor tea and toast set!

  1. So pretty! And with that Lord and Taylor's mark on the bottom, it's perfect for you.

  2. Lord and Taylor has always been my favorite department store. You could always find something there and you were well taken care of. I had one near me on Long Island and then worked near the one in Manhattan where the create the most wonderful Christmas windows every year.
Great find and I know you will enjoy them.

On an unrelated note, I thought of you as I was in my local WalMart today, and saw kits for fairy gardens, and one was for a "Fairy Tea Garden"! $19.99, it included an arbor, a small round table, chair, fairy, and a little tea set on the table. Might be cute in a garden setting!

  7. My wedding dress came from L & T, so they hold a soft spot in my heart!

  8. The tea and toast set is sweet and I've been in their Buffalo store a few times to drool over things.

  10. Very Pretty! I use to love shopping at Lord Taylor in Fort Lauderdale, I did not know they had such pretty china though.
