So I was meeting a friend for lunch downtown yesterday when she suggested we'd have a quieter place to dine if we went to The Cellar. This restaurant recently moved from another location nearby to this more visible spot along one of our main roads through downtown Newnan. I was also intrigued by the fact it is now located in a former automotive shop where I used to buy my tires when I worked downtown. The Cellar is definitely not a tire place anymore, and I was so impressed by the lovely interior decor.
When my friend and I looked over our menus, my eye went straight to one item, and I'll bet you can guess which one!
Yes, I ordered the Sweet Tea Brined Fried Chicken Sandwich and fries, and I must say it was delish!
Here's a little glimpse of the crispy, light and non-greasy batter on the chicken, which was so moist and tender I could (and did) easily cut it with my fork. The sandwich was great, and I know I enjoyed it even more after learning that sweet tea played a role in its preparation. Have you ever had sweet tea brined chicken before?
Looks very yummy !!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen that before but I would certainly try it! How could it not be good?
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun menu selection to discover!
ReplyDeleteSounds interesting. I'm sure the sugar in the tea tenderizes the meat.
ReplyDeleteNever heard of anything like it. I'm glad it was so good - sure looks like it!!
ReplyDeleteNever heard of this. Can you get the recipe for us? Blessings
ReplyDeleteI remember seeing a recipe for sweet tea brined something in a magazine or online... I am so glad you sampled this delicious chicken and shared it with all of us!
ReplyDeleteNo, I haven't, but now I want that sandwich. It sounds totally delicious!
