Kathryn Greeley's "collected" teawares!

One reason I took an instant liking to Kathryn Crisp Greeley's "The Collected Tabletop" is that it was clear she is a kindred spirit when it comes to a love of teawares and glass. My favorite chapter from the book is titled "A Study in Pink," and it features a mysterious pink dessert set Kathryn found at an antique shop in western North Carolina. The dessert plate is the one on top in this photo.

The pink teawares and glassware immediately caught my eye. I especially like how she brought in vintage pieces of etched glassware and then brightened the whole table with those gorgeous peonies!

These strawberry tarts look yummy, especially against the backdrop of these pink teawares, maker unknown!

If you saw yesterday's post about Kathryn's teapot topiary, I thought you might also like to see a close-up view of her Leighton Sprays breakfast set from Coalport China. Isn't this beautiful? In the book, she discusses her search for these pieces and what she has learned about them. I just love reading of other collectors who are passionate about the search!

You blue-and-white lovers (and you are legion!) definitely have a collecting friend in Kathryn Greeley. Wouldn't you love to wake up to a breakfast tray that looks like this?

And last but not least, I am just in love with her flow blue teapot and matching trivet. What a find! (Just look at that curlicue on the handle. I've never seen anything quite like it!) If you like the look of these beautiful teatime accessories and would like to see more, please be sure you've entered the giveaway on yesterday's blog post to be eligible to win a copy of Kathryn's book, "The Collected Tabletop." It was a most welcome addition to my library, and I know it will be in yours as well!

  9. It would be a treat to wake up to a tea tray like that, even a blue and white toast rack.
As someone that likes to provide table gifts, I found the ones in the top photo with the different coloured bows on pink boxes quite lovely.

  10. Hello Angela - I made a comment yesterday and it came out as 'buying rs gold.' (Don't know how that happened - I don't buy / sell gold, but it's really me, Joanie).

  12. I love her use of glassware and china, her tablescapes are so lovely.
Best advice : Ladies use that china ,she is right each day is special. make it more special by using the things that you love. So many of my pretty pieces of china ,glassware and tablecloths were once special pieces to someone. Surviving family members just wanted to get rid of them. Use them don't save them.
