The new Fancy Flours catalog

Do any of you get the Fancy Flours catalog? I finally placed an order from them not long ago (a small teapot cookie cutter), so now I'm on their mailing list and happy every time a new catalog arrives!

If I ever get serious about my stitching again, I think it would be great fun to hold a sewing-themed tea party. Aren't these treats delightful? I especially like the spool of thread cookies at left. I love how the icing looks like individual threads.

But what I really wanted to show you was their new Blue Willow wafer papers! Now yes, I've heard of these edible papers that you apply to iced sugar cookies, but I must confess I'm scared to give them a try. Any of you have experience with this technique? I think these are just the prettiest sugar cookies ever, and eventually I simply must give them a try!

  1. The wafer papers look very interesting. I've been noticing a variety of cookies on Pinterest that are made with them. Lovely effects.

  2. I think wafer paper is what some of the bakeries use to put a scene or photo of your own on a cake. I'd love to put them on some sugar cookies, it would save so much time from icing.

  3. OMGoodness!!!! The Blue Willow papers. I must try them!! I must. Thank you for showing them to us.

  4. I first learned about this company through an tea E-group I belong to. I've visited their website, but I've never placed an order, so I haven't received their catalog. They offer so many creative things for tea time. You've inspired me to place an order so I'll get a catalog!

  5. Wow! I don't know if I could eat those cookies! They are beautiful!

  6. I haven't tried the wafer paper, but so very tempted. They would be perfect for a tea party I am planning later this year. Let us know if you try them.

  7. OH so pretty!

    Oh my gosh!!

Our women's club (from which I am an officer) has an interest group called Nifty Needlers - they get together at least once a month to work on group or individual projects.

I have to share this with the interest group leader - she will love that sewing stuff!

    Thanks, Angela!!

  8. I've never heard of this catalog but it looks great. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

  9. The wafer papers are extremely easy to use and the results are beautiful. Don't hesitate to try them.

  10. How pretty are these cookies? I am impressed, Joanie

Thanks so much for taking time to leave a comment! It makes my day to hear from readers!
