Afternoon Tea with Colonial Candle

The 2012 Summer Games are coming to London soon, and one of the things I am most looking forward to is that I just know the TV coverage will include lots of stories about teatime! One company that's already gotten in on the act is Colonial Candle, which sent me a sample of a particularly yummy candle in their new London Destinations line.

The sweet floral scent is called Afternoon Tea, and the company describes the fragrance as "serene notes of fresh lemon juice, white freesia and fresh brewed tea." This new "blend" is quite pleasing!

I also like the fact this candle comes with two wicks, since that gives me a double shot at using up every last bit of this lovely new fragrance. Other candles in the line include Chocolate Souffle, Abbey Road and Poppy Fields. The new line launches June 15. To learn more about this company's candles, visit their website here. Cheers!

  1. I'll have to try that scent -- I usually burn lavender for I love the fresh scent of lavender. Sigh, but I'll have to wait until June!

  2. Oh neat!!

Keep in mind the best way to burn a candle is to only burn for an hour, blow out, let cool, trim wick, relight. it is when it burns too long that you don't get to use all the candle.

This is a scent I would love to try, and I love that oval glass design of the Colonial Candles!

  3. Thanks for showing this Angela I will check it out. I actually love the shape of the glass containers from these candles. I use them as canisters. In case you are not aware, when the candle is all used up, you put the glass container in the freezer with the remaining wax that can't burn away. After it is frozen it should pop out of the glass container easily. Then just put whole container in the dishwasher peel off the label and you have a pretty shaped glass canister! I know this is a tea blog, but I keep my coffee in one of them. Since it is oval shape, It doesn't take up as much space as a round containter. Enjoy the candle!

  5. Hi Angela, this candle seems interesting to me - I may have to try it! Speaking of the Summer Olympics...I saw a beautiful charm bracelet 'with all things English,' featured on the 4th hour of The TODAY Show, with Kathie Lee and Hoda...The silver bracelet featured charms with British items, including a tea cup and saucer - it looked adorable! Have a great weekend and Happy Birthday, Joanie
