Sipping my way down Candy Cane Lane

When December arrives each year, it's time to put away the pumpkin-flavored teas and sip a cup of Christmas cheer, and my favorite is easily the Candy Cane Lane green tea by Celestial Seasonings.

When my friend Phyllis wrote about this tea on her blog recently, I headed to the pantry to make sure I still had some. Yep. Three unopened boxes from last year, so I'm good for a while! I think this tea has almost a cult following among its fans, and it's so very, very minty, I can see why any peppermint tea fans (and decaffeinated tea fans) simply must have some each year.

My newest Christmas teawares this year are mugs and tea and toast sets, so for sipping some Candy Cane Lane I reached for this chintz design holly and berry teacup I found at Marshalls three years ago.

And since I've been asked before what the pattern is, I though I'd share this photo in case you really like this Christmas chintz teacup and want to look for one yourself!

  1. Does the tea taste sweet, like a candy cane? Or just green tea-peppermint?

  2. I do love that tea, and I still have some from last year, which is good because I haven't seen it this year, yet! Your teacup is perfect for it, too.

  3. Toffler, it does taste sweet to me, like candy canes, and I don't use any sugar with mine!

  4. Love the cup and saucer and Candy Cane Lane tea too. One of the few blended teas I drink. I bought a box for my sister and decided to keep it. She will never know.

  5. Love the Christmas teacup and hankie, and you know I love the tea, especially on cold, dark nights. It's 26 degrees in Michigan, so hot tea is most welcome.

  6. I get some of this every year because it reminds me of university. One of the campus organizations used to serve tea and treats to people during exams, and didn't allow studying in that room - it was a nice break from the stress.

  7. I always buy the Trader Joe's version of this tea. It's wonderful for the holidays.
