Relaxing is my cup of tea!

At the office we just sent off the annual newcomers' guide we publish, which is always an exhausting project, so I celebrated by taking the day off yesterday. My first task? Tackling the overflow in my crafts room! As I did, I stopped to admire something I've had hanging there for a while just because I like to look at it, this cute tea towel from my friend Phyllis. It seemed quite appropriate, because relaxing doesn't necessarily mean reclining on the couch and eating bon-bons. For me, relaxing means getting to focus my mind in a different direction. No more deadlines for a few weeks, a chance to catch up on friends' tea blogs (I'm so behind!), and thinking about going to the beach in a few more weeks. For now, that's my idea of relaxing. What's yours?

  1. Love the towel! Relaxing means doing whatever I want to do, whether it is reading, sewing for my grandbaby, or for the next few weeks, watching the Olympics! And it is always better with a cup of tea, or during the summer, a glass of iced tea. Enjoy!

  2. Relaxing means time for me to do anything I want to do. I am relaxing this morning by visiting blogs after returning very late last night from a 10-day trip.

    Love the towel!

  3. Cute towel.
Relaxing to me is a cup of tea or glass of iced tea and either reading or quilting. And not having to stop to cook. (Eating & sleeping are optional in my book, but my husband thinks he needs to eat 2 or 3 times a day). :-)
    Enjoy your time!

  5. That is a really cute tea towel. Next week relaxing will be visiting family and swimming in a beautiful freshwater lake every day.

  6. Beautiful tea towel with a great message! I am looking forward to the Olympics - did I tell you my poster of London 'the world's watching' arrived, from qvc. It is a large canvas poster, hand drawn art of London's landmarks, very neat! The best part was: it came already framed! That's as close as I'll get to London, for now. I love qvc,

  7. Angela , I just go shopping for the tea items that you have on your blog. I got the measuring cups yesterday. I am looking for a holder that I can either hang on my wall or something that stands on the counter.

  8. The beach sounds really good for relaxing. I think after the next event is over with in my backyard I need a day at the beach, maybe with a tea picnic and a good book. Now that sounds just about perfect.

  10. Relaxing for me is knowing there's no upcoming appointments or activities on the calendar and the day is ALL MINE to do whatever I please whenever I please. [Unfortunately that doesn't happen too often! ;-)] Thanks for jogging my memory about the tea towel. There's one just like it in my linen drawer!
