New teapot wall decor

Sometimes I come across a tea-themed piece so wonderful, I'm not sure what to do with it, I just know I have to have it. And so it was with this black metal teapot, which I found at a T.J. Maxx recently. It was just $9.99 for this rather large piece, which is about 24 inches wide by 15 inches tall.

I've moved it around several places and I'm still not sure where it'll wind up. Right now, it's hanging under a sampler I cross-stitched years ago.

It's near some teacups in the corner of the dining room, and I may or may not be adding something to the little shelf on the inside of the teapot.

Any ideas, friends?

  1. A nice green plant would be nice. It could climb all over the teapot and you'd end up with a topiary of sorts.

  2. Love it - I can see a small tea book standing up, a small teacup & saucer and a hint of greenery wound through . . .

  3. How cute! My first thought was a little ivy planted in a teacup~ or an African violet. :-)

  4. What a neat piece of art work. I can see you using it for seasonal displays - a little fabric for a backdrop, Easter teacups, Halloween teacups, Christmas...as creative as you are, there are so many options.

  5. Once again, a great find. I like where you have it - maybe it could move around until it finds the perfect place in your house. A new place each week?

  6. It's lovely! It would be nice lined with Spanish moss --- and then with either silk or dried flowers added. A little birds nest would look cute accenting it.

Or line it with Spanish moss, which hides a little planter. Plant an ivy or other trailing plant in it.

    It's beautiful!

  7. I love to have wall art outside so that would be my choice, and of course with a pot of pretty flowers inside it. Inside, perhaps a trailing ivy for the kitchen.

  10. I think I would hang it outside with a plant in it. What a fun find. Did you visit me for my give away. At bedtime tonight I am going to do the drawing.

  12. Would it hold up to the weather? Maybe outside in your garden.

  13. H Angela,

I love your need teapot wall art. I also love your teacup shelf.

Just an idea - What if you angled the the teapot high up along side the teacup shelf to make it look like it's pouring into the cups. You could make it a little whimsical, by putting some tea boxes or tins in the base of the teapot to add some color against the wrought iron.

    Have fun!

    Blessings,

  14. Once again you have scored another fun and interesting tea thing. I can't believe how many fun things you find. I thought right away a plant would be the thing and then read responses and that seems to be what others think too. Something like a philodendron. I also think it looks cute just the way it is.
Love your Biltmore teacup. I was there just days after you! :)
