Last week, I wrote about the tea-themed ATC's, or artist trading cards, I had created from various stamps, wax seals and paper. An ATC is simply a 2-1/2 x 3-1/2-inch card you've decorated in any way you desire. (An Artist Tea Card or "A Tea C" is the same thing, it's just got a tea theme!) Cards can be simple or plain. I've seen some that are very artistic, some that are stitched, some that are very scrapbooky. Mine will probably all be on the simple side, but I am enjoying making them. And, inspired by blog friends here and here, I am now going to host a card swap! If you'd like to swap two cards (just two) with another tea-loving friend, just e-mail your name and address to angela@newnan.com by Oct. 11. Then, when I have the list of all interested parties, I'll randomly pair up the cardmakers and e-mail each person the name of her (or his!) card swap partner.
You can see the very first cards I made at the link above, and last night I whipped out a few more with photographic images and quotes (that I made up!). Here they are:
The first two images are from the Library of Congress. You can read more about them here. And the fancy lady going to tea image is simply one I saved out of a magazine.
Speaking of magazines, whether or not you're interested in the card swap, let's have a giveaway! At home, not the office, I subscribe to 24 periodicals (23 magazines and the Wall Street Journal). How many of the subscriptions do you think I get for free? Those who guess correctly will be entered in a drawing to win a free magazine subscription, and I will give you a choice of several magazines from which to choose! If no one guesses the correct answer, well, I'll just have to throw everyone's name in the pot and choose a winner! Just be sure to enter before 7 a.m. EST tomorrow. Good luck!
I'd love to try the ATC's. I searched the mall yesterday trying to find supplies, but even Michael's didn't carry them. A long time employee didn't even know what they were. I guess it will have to be the online route.
ReplyDeleteI love your new cards, Angela - great photo images and cute quotes.
Twenty four periodicals - must be an occupational hazard. ;-)
Hard to guess about the free ones -maybe nine?
Gosh Angela, I don't know how many of those subscriptions you get for free, but I will send out a wild guess of 50%.
ReplyDeleteAnd I adore your new A Tea C's with the old photos. Must explore that link.
And yes, please enter me in your swap!!!
I'm guessing 20 for free. Lucky you to get anything free !!
ReplyDeleteI'll try the ATCs
I guess that all 24 are free!
ReplyDeleteHi Angela~
ReplyDeleteI love your new A-Tea-C cards, I'd love to join in the fun!
Wow, 24 periodicals... where do you find the time? Do you actually get to read through each one every month? I'm impressed! I'm going to guess that you get 15 of them for free.
Wish me luck!
Lisa
Angela, thank you so much for your comments on the mask that I made for my niece, Ana. Yes, I do indeed love "my" kids, I have 6 nieces and 2 nephews and I'm crazy about all of them :o)
ReplyDeleteAlthough I called this posting Midnight Masquerade, I forgot to mention that masquerade was the theme of her prom and why she wanted a mask in the first place. I'm easily distracted... I should go back and edit that.
I'm glad you appreciate my confession, nothing I do is ever perfect, there's usually a redo involved with at least one aspect of every project. I compare it to visiting San Francisco, which I do often, I know I'm going to get turned around & lost at least once during every trip, so I just expect it and chaulk it up to experience. No need to get ruffled.
See, I really am long winded! Thank you again for your comments, I really do enjoy them!
Lisa
I'm going to say you get 17 free magazine subscriptions. About the tea cards, I wish I had time to do some because looking at the funny captions on those you have posted here, a lot could be done with them. --Teaternity
ReplyDeleteI guess 21.
ReplyDeleteall except one and how do you get even 1 free, you lucky lady?
ReplyDeleteWow! I bet you do read them all. It would pay to send you free subscriptions, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to guess lucky 13!
I love the A-Tea-C's. I'm not crafty enough to participate but please continue to share!
Oh my! I'm not sure I want to know how many you receive for free, because I pay for all my many magazine subscriptions.
ReplyDeleteMy guess is all of them.
I'm guessing in your guessing game - and I'm guessing you get 18 free.
ReplyDeleteMan o man I wish my stash was built up because my plate is already full so I won't be able to participate in your card swap.
ReplyDeleteNow as for your subscriptions, my guess is that all of them are free!
Oh what lovely ATCs, I think I will have to participate in the swap, so off I go to email as required. Frivolitea got in touch with me and I'm glad she did. I live in Ireland so the A tea Cs will be whizzing aroung the globe!

May I play? Sounds like fun!
ReplyDeleteThose ATC's are too funny!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of magazines to read and keep up with! I do love magazine subscriptions but have had to pare mine down. The biggest complaint I have is the ever increasing ad space and less and less magazine.
