A new teatime treasure from Talbots

I've owned several teapot scarves over the years, but I don't believe I've ever owned one that was 100 percent silk. But thanks to Frances L., who kindly sent me a shopping alert a few weeks ago, I own one now! This Pure Silk Teapot Scarf was on clearance at Talbots, marked down from $59.50 to $19.99, which I thought was a great deal. (And of course I always check Retail Me Not and other sites before I buy anything online, because I almost always find a coupon code for free shipping that way, and I did this time too.)

As soon as I placed my order, it said the scarf wouldn't be in stock until late February, but I didn't care when it arrived as long as it eventually arrived. Frankly, I suspected it would sell out online (and it did), but I'm thrilled that thanks to Frances, I got in on the deal.

My scarf came yesterday, and I couldn't be happier! This will go perfectly with some turquoise knit tops I already own, and I have a navy-blue dress that it would work with as well. Since it looks like *maybe* the pandemic is finally on its way out the door, I am actually starting to think about new clothes again after going almost a year without buying much of anything. I don't know about you, but I still have things I bought early in 2020 that I never got a chance to wear anywhere special.

Maybe it's the springlike temperatures we're having in Georgia this week (the seventies!), but I'm starting to get excited about spring and the possibility of a return to normal. Are you?

  1. WOW! What a gorgeous scarf! I have never seen tea-themed scarves before.

Our huge icicles are beginning to melt and fall, that's a good sign here that temps are warming up. Where the squirrels dug for fallen bird seed I see some grass and mud under all the snow - another good sign. Also a good sign to find my slingshot. Just kidding. Those squirrels knocked over $10 worth of bird seed yesterday. I like to feed my birds, not rodents. : - )

I hope if we ever meet you are wearing that pretty new scarf. Hugs.

    1. Just a helpful hint ... Nancy Reppert shared a recipe for squirrel stew on the Rosemary's Sampler blog the other day. I told her I was going to post it on my deck! ;) (Making a note to wear the scarf *when* I finally get to meet you!)

  2. My scarf arrived yesterday too - thanks to you. I think I need to send my readers over to your blog to get a better look at the scarf because your photos are much better than the single photo I took.

  3. That is a beautiful scarf! And you got such a good deal on it. I don't have the knack for wearing scarves myself, but I do admire them on other, more fashionable, people.
The temperature got up to 62 here in DC and it was sunny all day, so that was nice, after all the snow and ice we've been having. When I went out for my walk in the woods yesterday morning, there was still a lot of ice, but I think it will be gone after today's sunshine. But we may be getting more this weekend--it IS still winter, after all.

  4. Beautiful scarf. I can see why you will get a lot of wear out of it.
