"Jesus, Me & Afternoon Tea" by D.L. Stalnaker

A friend sent me a link to a terrific Kindle freebie, and since the Kindle version of the book was still free as of yesterday, I had to share about it here! "Jesus, Me and Afternoon Tea" by D.L. Stalnaker is a combination devotional and afternoon tea cookbook, a combination I find quite lovely.

The book begins with a brief history of tea, followed by weekly devotionals with recipes interspersed throughout. I've already read a few of the 52 weeks of devotionals to get up to speed for the year, and I do enjoy the idea of pausing to have a quiet inspirational moment that also has a tea theme to it.

The recipes include sweets, scones, tea sandwiches, beverages and more, and I think many of you will enjoy reading this book as much as I am!

  1. Well, I would say that you got quite a bargain. (Sadly) I have a NOOK and when I checked this out on B&N they only had the paperback book for sale and the price was $77 plus change!!!! My son keeps telling me I should get a Kindle.....perhaps he's right.

  5. Thank you so much! I just downloaded it after reading the comments. One was rather funny: "I did find one problem with one of her recipes as the recipe probably gives an incorrect measurement. The English Crumpets recipe calls for a 43-inch metal cookie cutter to cut out the crumpets. If you were to use a 43-inch metal cookie cutter, the crumpets would be a little over 3 1/2 feet in size. Be aware of this minor typo and use a smaller cookie cutter instead." LOL
