The Door County Coffee & Tea Company

Last week my husband and I headed to Wisconsin for a week to visit family. We went up a few days early so we could explore the famous Door County we'd heard so much about. After settling in at Sturgeon Bay, we visited some of the cute shops there and then my most-anticipated stop in Sturgeon Bay, the Door County Coffee & Tea Company!

You're traveling down what looks like a country road when voila, there appears this pretty white building.

You enter under this charming archway, which was dripping with ...

... honeysuckle blossoms. So pretty!

Since my husband loves his coffee as much as I love my tea, we both enjoyed the sights and scents there. Tea lovers who are in the neighborhood really must visit, as this store offers a great variety of teas, teawares, tea books, tea gadgets, tea accoutrements and more. I had been wanting one of these collapsible travel infusers from The Tea Spot and was delighted to find one here. It worked really well, too!

But one of my favorite finds was this Door County Blend tea.

This wasn't a flavored tea but a nice, brisk black tea that was bold but not overpowering, and without astringency. I drank lots of it on the trip! (I thought it tasted like Yunnan, and when I got home and looked on their website found that's indeed what it was.)

Another pleasant discovery: the infuser fits perfectly on this tin of tea, so I will try to remember to pack a cylinder-shaped tin of tea when traveling with this infuser. And tomorrow I sure hope you'll visit because I'll be sharing a wonderfully useful tea gadget I found there that you are going to want if you don't already have one! I bought one for me, and I'll be giving one away!

  2. glad you had a great time. I live in Minneapolis and my family and I went up there about 2 years ago for a long weekend and fell in love. I didn't make it to this store (can you believe it!)...there was so much to do and see and I can't wait to go back.
