At a T.J. Maxx in Anniston, Ala. over the weekend, I came across what I believe is the prettiest tea tin I've ever seen!
This tin of English Breakfast tea is from the English Tea Shop. The soft pink coloring and the lush roses on the tin are just my speed. Even my husband said it looked like Rachel Ashwell herself could have designed it! (A little scary how much my man knows about tea and my favorite designers these days!)
When I opened it, I was pleasantly surprised to find the tin with an inner lid to keep the tea fresh. Nice!
I enjoyed one of the rare cups of hot tea I've prepared lately, and the English Breakfast blend, brewed for just about 4 minutes, had a pleasant black tea flavor with no astringency, just as I had hoped. But frankly, if the tea had been terrible I still would have loved this tin! (Also comes in blue. Sells for $5.99. Just in case you feel a T.J. Maxx shopping trip coming on ...)
oh dear..now I have to make a slight detour and go to TJ Maxx after work. And then to the laundromat.
ReplyDeleteI hope they have the blue tin here..it would be lovely for my niece's birthday package. Thanks (I think) for enabling. ;o)
I agree...I work about ONE MILE from one and I think I might have to whip by at lunch :) Thanks Angela. Can I just say your blog is such a highlight of my day. Trish
ReplyDeleteI too, love your blog. I have a laundry list of "work" blogs I read but your blog is like a gentle breeze in my day. And since I'm not a big shopper, I'm encouraged to be a hunter of beauty when I'm out.
ReplyDeleteHi Angela! I too feel a trip to TJ Maxx coming on! Thanks for the tip!

I'm with you on this tea tin, pink is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI stopped in TJ Maxx in Hilton Head and didn't find anything like your beautiful tea tin! Lucky you!!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, it is a pretty one. Now where do you store or show all your pretty tins? That is my dilemma these days.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tea tin and it sounds like the English Breakfast tea is one that I'd like.
ReplyDeleteWell that is very pretty indeed!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't resist these either when I spied them at TJ's last week. The inside lid to seal the tins was the feature that surprised me as well. They will make a great place to store my two favorite teas on my bedroom tea station. (My DH knows way too much about these things as well, but I just love him for remembering all of these little details.) Aren't we lucky!
ReplyDeleteHave a happy tea drinking day!

What a pretty tin. And a bonus that the tea tastes good as well.
ReplyDeleteI saw these yesterday at a TJ Maxx in Portland, Maine (they had four different colored tins there) - but didn't buy any because, while on vacation in Canada last week, I'd purchased four tea cozies, two teapots, one cup and saucer set, and seven different types of tea! I just couldn't justify buying any more "tea-related" things. But after reading your post, I'm kind of wishing I'd picked them up, lol.
ReplyDeleteHi Angela,
ReplyDeleteI was so excited when I found an English Tea Shop tin in a T.J. Maxx store in NY. I also found a few other tea related goodies.
Thanks for sharing,
Darlene
