Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day, everyone! Here's a little postcard I found a while back that I wanted to share with you today. Only a fellow tea lover would appreciate this!

And after all my protesting about not liking certain shades of bright green the other day, guess what I just bought -- and love? This tea towel! It's a large one, and squarish, definitely not big enough for a tablecloth, but I love it. "If you want your dishes bright, use me morning, noon and night," it says. Let's not take that little saying too seriously, though!

Will you be celebrating St. Patrick's Day in any way today? I made Mint Chocolate Chip Brownies I'll be taking to the office, where I'll maybe share some Irish Breakfast Tea with the tea drinkers there, and then DH and I will be having Corned Beef and Cabbage for supper, assuming the crock pot does its job. And you?

  1. I wasn't planning on it, but Irish Breakfast sounds good! I'm going to make myself a cup when I get to the office!

  2. We will be celebrating with corned beef, cabbage, carrot, onion and potato stew. And for dessert Guiness Chocolate Cakes with Chocolate Ganache Icing. The dessert is from an old Tea Time or Southern Lady Magazine. My youngest daughter Melanie will be in town today (Yeah!!!)so that will be a celebration as well. We haven't seen her since Christmas!

  3. Here in Savannah, it is hard to not experience some "festivities", so I made Creme de Menthe brownies and delivered them to neighbors. Ok, I ate one. Alright, two. Um, it may have been three. But they were really small. Well, medium. ALRIGHT! I CONFESS! I ate a F E W. Then I gave the rest away. Erin go brach!

  6. I like all your green items - especially the pretty cup and saucer.

There is an old Irish saying "A proper cup of tea should be strong enough for a mouse to trot on". So I guess my celebration was my strong morning cuppa in an Irish mug. Although, all the talk about chocolate mint brownies has me now wanting to bake some.

  11. Happy St. Paddy's Day, Angela! I love the card and the tea towel is cute! We went to The Performing Arts Centre where the Newnan / Northgate art students and teachers had a fundraiser ("Buy the homemade bowl: all money donated to local food pantry.")

It was really nice: they had corned beef & cabbage, Irish Stew and many other tasty soups. The bowls were all "handmade" and there were so many nice ones to choose from: I was very impressed! We have so many talented students in Coweta County - I continue to be amazed.

Have a great rest of the week, Joanie "O Donohue" Anderson

  12. ps: Angela, I almost forgot - "QVC" had a 24-hour St. Patrick's Day marathon...

I saw the opening segment (St. Patrick's wee-hours of the 'morning,' at midnight...) beautiful Irish jewelry and crystal, all specially priced for St. Patrick's Day. They certainly know what they are doing!

I ordered a Conamarra marble necklace w/ silver shamrock clasp: I will show you, once it arrives! Take care and thanks for your wonderful site, Joanie "O Donohue"
