Those fall food displays in stores stop me in my tracks every time, so naturally I hit the brakes as my cart rolled by the Pillsbury display at Walmart last week. Caramel Apple is my most favorite fall flavor, so I left with cookie mix, cake mix and frosting, all in the Caramel Apple flavor.
I'm saving the cookies for when I find a new caramel tea to try (suggestions welcome!), but I couldn't help tearing into the frosting to see if it was as good as I hoped. Mmmm! So creamy and caramel apple-y. I usually prefer to bake from scratch, but with these flavors, I knew Pillsbury was the way to go!
The cupcakes I made were even better than I'd hoped, a fine accompaniment to afternoon tea. Have you tried any of these new Pillsbury treats? If so, what did you think?
Ooh, I haven't seen those yet but now I will be looking for them!
ReplyDeleteAngela, thanks for the yummy fall baking ideas. I'll be on the lookout for these items. In the meantime you might be interested in the following teas: Caramel Vanilla Cuppa Cake Tea by Republic of Tea and Black Tea, Vanilla Caramel Truffle by Lipton.

ReplyDeleteFall is in the air! and apparently in the belly, too!
ReplyDeleteThey look yummy, Angela. Don't you think fall has the most foods associated with it? And it's all comfort foods too! Yay for fall!
ReplyDeletePillsbury makes some decent products and the icing looks yummy. I use their pastry for pies all the time now, one thing I don't make from scratch.

Oh my goodness! Wish I hadn't seen this post. Now I am going to want.
ReplyDeleteMmmm, they look delicious. I bought a box of this mix a few weeks ago, along with one Key Lime Pie. I've not used either one yet.
