Intrepid researcher that I am, I had to follow a friend's advice to try out a new doughnut shop earlier this year. Parlor Doughnuts started a few years ago in Evansville, Indiana, and has been expanding to new sites ever since, including one in Sharpsburg that is just a few miles from my house, and oh my goodness. To call their exquisite pastries simply "doughnuts" is rather like calling a filet mignon "some protein." I'm trying to get out from behind the computer and take my writing notebooks on the road at least one day a month this year, so this week, I settled in a seat before a sunny window at Parlor Doughnuts and began with their hot London Fog Latte.
The tea was prepared well, not at all oversteeped, and there was no tea bag left in the cup, just tea and that nice foam, as it should be. I will happily order this tasty treat again!
And the chocolate-covered strawberry doughnut? Let's just say that I wisely skipped lunch that day so I could afford the calories, and they were worth it! Do you have a Parlor Doughnuts near you?

ReplyDeleteNo, there are no Parlour Doughnuts here in DC yet. That chocolate-covered strawberry doughnut looks positively dangerous! That's nice box it's in.
