Red Rose Tea & new Wade Whimsies
When I discovered Red Rose Tea years ago, I got a wee bit obsessed with collecting Wade Whimsies, the little collectible figurines tucked inside each box. They were giving away pieces in the Noah's Ark series at the time, and I was determined to get an ark full of them.
I bought so much tea back then (given to friends, family, colleagues), I didn't have to buy any plain old back tea for, literally, years. I eventually swore off buying any more Red Rose Tea "just to get the free figurines," but recently I was actually out of the tea and had a legitimate need for a new box.
After the Noah's Ark Series they moved on to the Pet Shop Series, and the new line is called the Calendar Series. I guess they aren't being introduced in any order, or else it is somebody's idea of a good joke to send "Snowman" figurines to Georgia stores in August! At any rate, if you, too, have a *legitimate* need for some good, plain tea (for making iced tea, for instance), give Red Rose a try. And if you want to know more about the new series of figurines, go here.

I collected these Wade figurines for several years, but not lately. The fish, rabbit and turtle (pet shop series) are the last three I added to my collection.
ReplyDeleteIt was fun to see the new Calendar series.
I also have a small collection of these figurines. I like the snowman, I might just have to go buy some Red Rose Tea and see what they have in Portland.
ReplyDeleteI drink this lovely tea by the gallons, as did my Mum....we've saved sooo many of these lovely little Wade figurines. For some reason, my little grandson loves them so he has hundreds of them.. I hope when he sees them he'll remember fun times at Hemma's house.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Spencer

ReplyDeleteI have boxes of these little figurines. I've probably been drinking red rose for 30 years.
ReplyDeleteI have an extra leprechaun - Would anyone like to trade? I have the cupid, leprechaun, Easter bunny & turkey. Hugs to all!
ReplyDeleteI started collecting after I met a wonderful elderly woman at church and she showed me her collection.I've been hooked since! I have several repeats from previous series' if anyone is inteested in trading. I have 3 eagles (endangered animals), 2 kittens, 2 puppies, 3 turtles (pet shop). :-)
ReplyDeleteI love collecting these figurines. It's too bad Red Rose only puts them in the huge package of tea now. It's going to take much longer to go through it. If anyone wants to trade, I have an extra girl holding flowers from this calendar series. I'd like any other calendar figurine or even something from an older set if anyone wants to trade.
ReplyDeletei've been drinking red rose for about eight years and have about 70 figurines. i would like to trade my duplicates with others. please let me know if you're interested!
