Arnold Palmer Lite Iced Tea Lemonade

So a few years ago, I was at my friend Beth's home enjoying a fine homemade meal when she served up one of the yummiest, sweetest drinks I've ever had, a beverage she calls Lemonade Tea. Years later, I heard Food Network star Paula Deen refer to this same half-tea-and-half-lemonade drink as an "Arnold Palmer," and while I accept the fact that Mr. Palmer too enjoys mixing lemonade and tea (a swell idea), I must say I will always associate this drink with my friend Beth. I'd actually been craving some of this tea, so I couldn't help taking home a container of this Arnold Palmer Lite when I came across it at Publix this week.

When I saw his likeness on this jug of tea, it dawned on me that pretty much all I know about Arnold Palmer, besides the fact he is a golfer, is that he likes his tea and lemonade combined. That's enough for me!

And the taste? Well, it was just delicious! It's not *quite* as good as my friend Beth's, but then this is Arnold Palmer "Lite," not the regular sweet tea blend. Some ready-to-drink teas I've come across have a funky taste, but this one could pass for homemade. I'll certainly be happy to buy this again sometime.

And the crown on the cap is cute too!

I haven't tried this yet, but it sounds refreshing. That glass is gorgeous with those hand painted roses.

Paula Deen has a recipe for Arnold Palmer cupcakes on http://www.pauladeen.com/index.php/recipes/view2/arnold_palmer_cupcakes/

What a good tip - and how refreshing, for these hot days. Your glass with all the roses is just beautiful. I will try some of this.

I saw a message on Chick Fil-A's billboard: National Lemonade Day is this Friday, August 20th.
Cheers, Joanie

Angela, I'm in the hospital room with Jack who is sound asleep. Liz and I are reading your blog. Reading your blog reminds me of when you stayed with me in Moreland when Scott was in the hospital. I would love to try to try some of that tea right now! It is so cold in the hospital and so hot outside! Hope to see you next time I'm in Newnan. Have tea ready! Love Shannon

I love your tea glass! I don't think I've ever had an Arnold Palmer. It would be refreshing for these hot days.

I, too, love the mix of half lemonade half tea. I have purchased this tea at our swimming pool concession and love it.

I just started drinking these this summer after my husband heard about them. I like to brew my own tea, this week it is a ginger peach blend and then add Crystal lite lemonaid. So delicious. I love following your blog! Wonderful!
