A giveaway with four winners!

About the time I was giving away that extra copy of Laura Childs' "Oolong Dead" a few weeks ago, I got a lovely e-mail from the author herself (whose real name is Gerri Schmitt), thanking me for my review and also noting that the comments about her tea shop mysteries from you blog readers were "just so wonderful and heartwarming." Now isn't that neat, knowing that an author we like enjoyed reading our words about her work? She also asked if I would be interested in giving away some copies of her new book in another series she is writing, and of course I said yes.

I haven't yet read "Eggs in Purgatory," first in the Cackleberry Club Mysteries, but Gerri/Laura (I don't know what to call her!) says the book is "about 3 forty-plus women who run the Cackleberry Club cafe. Besides a fun mystery, the book also includes tea, recipes, knitting, cake decorating, and a dash of spirituality."

So I'm game to check out this new series. Are you? I'll be keeping one of these books to read myself and giving away the other four, and all of them are autographed! So if you'll leave a comment between now and 7 a.m. tomorrow, you'll actually have a pretty good chance of winning one of these books. Good luck!

This is exciting, Angela - Gerry Schmitt reading your tea blog! And how generous of her to provide copies of her new book for your giveaway.

The Cackleberry Cafe sounds like a wonderful series. I can tell already that the characters will be easy for me to relate to. How could I not enjoy reading about their interests (tea, recipes, knitting, etc.) with a good mystery mixed in. I can't wait to read them.

Hi, again, too. I wrote with last give away that I've read all of the tea mysteries and I have to admit that I've read EIP. However, Laura Childs's books are the only ones I have reread because they are so fun to read! (I don't normally reread books.) Her characters are so life-like and her descriptions of food are just yummy.

Angela,
Cackleberry Cafe! What a really fun name for a place! I can hardly wait to find out just what they serve there! Does mystery always involve murder? I sure hope that no one THERE dies laughing! (Of course, that would beat a number of other alternatives).

Not having won, I am curious to know just who the illustrator of the cover happens to be. . .do you suppose that is a pseudonym (nom de plume [or charcoal pencil]),as well?

Please sign me up for the book. I've been reading your blog and learning about tea from you for over a year. This is my first post. My husband had to help me figure out how to sign up! I'm computer-challenged. I've read none of the Laura Childs books, but, you've inspired me to begin!
