Well, I haven't found any cute fall teawares for the October giveaway, so I'm going with an old reliable giveaway item: an Amazon e-gift card for $15!
Here's how you can win: 1) Tell me the name of the last book you read and enjoyed (I'd rather hear about good books than bad ones!) 2) Be sure to include a way for me to get in touch with you if you're the winner.
You may enter the giveaway through 7 a.m. Monday, October 16. Good luck!
The last book I read was Margaret Maron's "Take Out". I'm a huge fan of her books and this one did not disappoint. I've also read and enjoyed a couple of the ones you recommended recently. Next up is Ronda Rich's book about her mother, "Mark My Words". It arrived yesterday and I'll start it this evening after work. Happy reading!

I bought it to keep on hand for when the wee small members of the family come to visit, but I had forgotten all the wonderful descriptive passages about teatime that P.L. Travers describes so well. I remember some from my childhood, but it was much better re-reading it as an adult! (cwhit98@aol.com)

Hi Angela,
ReplyDeleteI have had some more time to read recently and have enjoyed three books that I would love to recommend.
The first one is "The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane" by Lisa See. I think you will find it intriguing and will enjoy the tea related plot.
I think that I told you one time that I read cookbooks like other people read novels. This book was on the shelf at my Library Book Sale.
"Salmugundi: A Celebration of Salads from Around the World" by Sally Butcher features 150 salad recipes and beautiful photography. I recommend the Pub Ploughman's Salad with Chips on page 158. I love that she comments on each of the recipes and tells a little story about each one.
The third is "The Romance of Tea" by William H. Ukers and annotated by James Norwood Pratt. First published in 1936, this version will inform and entertain any tea lover.
Happy reading, Angela, and thanks for the chance to win.

I recently read Lessons From Madame Chic by Jennifer Scott. I enjoyed it and hope to read her other books.
ReplyDeleteOne that I read not too long ago and enjoyed was Woolly by Ben Mezrich. It's about research with the goal of bringing back the woolly mammoth - I don't think they've achieved it yet, but it was interesting to read about what they had tried and why.
