Harney's Christmas Teas

Sunday afternoon my husband came in from a trip to Barnes and Noble and said that while he was there he'd found me a treat. He said he knew I probably wouldn't purchase this for myself at this time of year but that I'd probably like to have it, and he was right! In fact, I've actually picked up this gift set several times and talked myself out of it!

And though I wouldn't have gotten this set for myself, I was more than happy to get it, because I'm a real fan of both these Harney and Sons Christmas blends. The Holiday Tea is a black tea with citrus, almond, cloves and cinnamon, and it tastes very Christmas-y to me. The White Christmas Tea is a white tea blend made with almonds, vanilla and cardamom, and it is delicious as well. The teas come in those pretty silken teabags that let you see the tea leaves expanding. Although I got a gift of the Holiday Blend last year, and it was promptly consumed, I haven't had the White Christmas tea in a while so my new treat was extra welcome! Have any of you tried these teas, and if so what did you think?

  3. What a nice guy! You probably could guess I have not tried these teas because I am a non-flavored black tea drinker. *LOL*

  5. How lovely that your husband was thinking of you in this gift. I haven't tried either one of these. I am drinking a Christmas tea picked up in France. It is a white flavored tea, but not sure what it is flavored with. It is a very different flavor than I have had before.

  7. I might try the white one, but not the black - I really dislike cloves in my tea unless I do it myself. I haven't found many black Christmas blends without it. Oh well. Nice hubby though!

  8. I've never tried either tea but they both sound lovely. Maybe I should visit my local B&N. Have you tried Twinings Christmas tea? It's very good. They used to sell it loose (looks like only bags this year) and I have part of a tin from last year.

  9. I bought my Christmas tea also, a Christmas Roiboos from The Tea Haus. I like it almost as much as I like my Coronation Street tea, also a roibos. I buy it at the market in downtown London (http://www.theteahaus.com/index.php?symbol=menu.htm&idkat=7)

  10. I love the Holiday tea and, in fact, just finished a pot of it. If you have a B&N member card, they have a special through Christmas to buy two of the tins and get one free (check your e-mail coupon offers).
    Cheers,
    Leah
