I don't always mention Victoria magazine, but the Ireland-themed March/April issue arrived this week, and I think it is just yummy! I am so ready for spring, and those gorgeous Easter eggs reminded me that I need to get busy stitching my annual felted Easter egg. I also like those lily of the valley tea wares on the cover since that is the flower for my birth month, May.
And oh, those Belleek teacups! I would love to have some shamrock teacups like these. Maybe one day, I'll spot some at a good price.
These green wares caught my eye, too, because I've been pondering whether to decorate for St. Patrick's Day this year. I'd like to, but with Easter coming early, April 5, I'm not sure how to do both.
But if I do decide to give a nod to St. Paddy's Day, I have some new green pieces myself. Last weekend, a girlfriend and I went junkin' on Valentine's Day and had a great time in Monroe, Georgia. We shopped some of the most wonderful antique malls I've visited in years, and I was thrilled to find some $4 green trays for St. Patrick's Day decorating, whether I do it this year or next. I liked this one with the couple…
And this chippy one with tole-painted roses. Do you decorate for St. Patrick's Day?

I don’t really decorate my house for St. Patrick’s Day, but I often do set my table with green as the primary color. I have one Belleek cup, and saucer that is the focal point of that table setting for me. I hope you will find some of those, too.
ReplyDeleteI do not decorate for St Patrick's Day. I wonder if you have some decorations that could pull double duty? Leave those up and remove the shamrocks and replace them with eggs or bunnies.
ReplyDeleteI have a Beleek teapot. Can I actually put hot tea in it? Beleek has almost resale value anymore.I have some pretty pieces but did donate some excess.
ReplyDeleteYes, I do decorate for St. Patrick's Day. I always put a shamrock wreath and an Irish flag on my front door, and I bring out my Beleek teaware and my Royal Tara made-in-Ireland china, too.
ReplyDeleteI do decorate for Saint Patrick’s Day. I pull out what green glassware I have, add some shamrocks, I have one Belleek vase to use, put a green top hat on my statuary dog by the front door and use a few Irish signs and linens..oh, and fly my St.Patrick’s Day flag. Your new finds are just darling, I would have scooped them up also! Enjoy the last week of February! Best, Virginia
