Feeling Chintzy!
It's been a rainy, gray week here in Newnan, and I saw a photo of a chintz teacup on Tea Time magazine's Facebook page one day and it made me smile. The pretty, cheerful florals of chintz china are just the thing to perk up a gray day.
Out of curiosity, I decided to take a look back on my blog and see how many times I've written about chintz over the years, and it turns out, quite a few! These are just a few of the photos I've shared, and while it would still be nice to see a little sunshine, I must say that it brightened the day just to look at all the chintz patterns.
My favorite chintz is Royal Winton's Welbeck chintz, the yellow pattern in the lower right corner, but I also like the Royal Winton Summertime chintz in the lower left corner. Do you have a favorite chintz pattern?

It's gray and cloudy here in the mountains this week, too, and those photos are very cheery. I love them all but that blue teapot in the larger picture is probably my favorite. I think I need to swap my red transfer ware cup for something cheery and floral this morning. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteThey are all so pretty!
ReplyDeleteYou have many beautiful chintz pieces. I love chintz but don't have a lot of it.
ReplyDeleteFor once we have the sun out today! I don't have any chintz but my favourite is a Royal Winton yellow pattern. Years ago Victoria magazine sold china in the back pages I believe and I wish I had ordered the teapot in this pattern.
ReplyDeleteNice mosaic by the way! I'm sending you an email with a dilemma I hope you can offer some suggestions for Angela.
Gorgeous chintz collage! Overcast here and a bit nippy. Love ALL chintz...but maybe Shelley Maytime Chintz is my favorite...but I love Wellbeck too!

Ooooohhh... another Wellbeck fan!!! Fell in love with it in Victoria magazine, but couldn't afford it.. Luckily the next visit we made to friends in England took me to Stoke On Trent and I purchased some at the Royal Winton Factory! Love it's cheery yellow!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo collage! Fun to see all of the different patterns. I'm not a huge chintz fan, but my favorite is probably Shelley Summer Glory.
ReplyDeleteYour chintz tea collection is stunning, love them, no favorite.
ReplyDeleteHugs.
Love the blue in the largest picture. I will put that on my Must Have List.
ReplyDeleteIt was a nice sunny breezy day in NJ! We fed the ducks at the pond and enjoyed the fresh air. I love all chintz.....but I do not own a chintz teapot! How about that!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to brighten a dreary day, Angela! I don't own any chintz tea pots but I should be on the look out, they are so cheerful.
ReplyDeleteI got lucky at Publix the other day: I found a packet of the teacup St. Patrick's Day cards - they are adorable! I felt like I had found a shamrock. Joanie

My favorite is Rose Chintz by Johnson Bros. I never tire of it. It was seeing Susan Branch's collection that made me fall in love with it!
ReplyDeleteLove your montage of Chintz photos! Perfect pick-me-up for these grey days!
ReplyDeleteThe Wellbeck yellow is my favorite and they only one I have in my cupboard. But I do love all chintz so very much!
