"Oolong Dead" Giveaway
A week ago I wrote about the new tea shop mystery from author Laura Childs, and yesterday I happened to receive a *second* review copy. Since I don't need two of the books, I'm going to give one away to some lucky winner.
To enter, just answer this question: Have you ever read one of the tea shop mysteries, and if so which was your favorite? (Mine was the first one, "Death by Darjeeling," simply because it was such a pleasure to discover the series, as I really felt I had come across something wonderful for tea lovers. And I still feel that way, especially after reading the new book, which is my "recent favorite.")
You may enter anytime between now and 7 a.m. Wednesday morning. Good luck!
Yes I have read 4 so far and have number 5 in my TBR pile. I liked them all -love all the characters personalities.Living in SC and having family in Charleston I can "picture" alot of the books.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite was the English Breakfast Murder. Because I figured it out before the ending. They are a lot of fun, easy reading and not intense at all. I favorite character is by far Drayton. He is just too smooth!!!
ReplyDeleteI've really enjoyed the Tea Shop Mystery series and have read them all. I can't wait to read "Oolong Dead", but it won't be available at my local library for a while yet.
ReplyDeleteI also picked the English Breakfast Murder as a favorite. I loved how it included a sea turtle hatching and a fashion bash and so much tea info. The ginger pear scone recipe and tea dyeing info was great.
It just might be time to go back and reread some of the first books in the series. Thanks for reminding me to take another look.
I haven't read any of them yet. I just started reading the English Breakfast Murder and I was volunteering for a luncheon and I left it behind..... I haven't had an opportunity to get it back yet. Sounds like the one I should be reading first! Thanks for the opportunity to win Oolong Dead!
ReplyDeleteNo, I have not read any of them (and hadn't heard of them at all until I started reading your blog a few months ago).
ReplyDeleteWould LOVE to become one of the Tea Shop Mystery series fans though by starting off with "Oolong Dead." ;-)
Death by Darj too! But please don't enter me -I've been SOOOO blessed by you.
ReplyDeleteHaving only discovered this series a short time ago, I've only read the first three books. I have enjoyed each one and look forward to continuing. I have to agree with you Angela, that "Death By Darjeeling" is my favorite so far, not only because I was thrilled to have found these tea theme mysteries, but, I loved Charleston's historical "Lamplighter Tour" at the beginning. Being such an easy read with a wonderful "family" of characters, I'm sure I'll be enjoying this series for a long time to come.
ReplyDeleteoh hon, because of you i even discovered this series. my library does not carry it, but i have asked them to consider doing so. in the meantime, i am anxiously awaiting the first one in the series courtesy of our interstate-interlibrary loan system! i am so excited and want to thank you for posting about them previously and also, for this most generous opportunity to win this one! i must say, everyone who has read them and commented, certainly endorse this as a good read also. hugs all around! :)
ReplyDeleteAngela, I agree with you, Karen and Steph; Death by Darjelling was my favorite also; it was the first one I read too. The descriptions of the characters made them come alive and I could picture them at the tea shop. Would love to read this latest one! Susan T.
ReplyDeleteWow - I'm surprised at how many people have read this series! I haven't read any yet. But I do love a good mystery!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this series of books! My favorite is the one I'm reading right now--"The Silver Needle Murder." I think I have the entire series...EXCEPT the most recent one that was published a few weeks ago. That's why I would love to win this give-away--I need that book to find out the latest adventures of Theodosia, Drayton, Haley, Delaine Dish and Earl Gray! And then, of course, that book would become my favorite, because my favorite is always the one I'm reading at the moment!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of them yet, just discovered a few at a local library and plan to check them out. I've heard great things about this latest mystery and would love to own it.
ReplyDeleteThank you for offering to give it away.
- Ann
I have never read them but always love to check out the authors you recommend! Jan Karon is awesome and I'm disappointed only because I've finished all of the Mitford series!
ReplyDeleteDeath By Darjeeling was my favorite book I have read in this series because of the same reasons you mentioned. The characters were new. The format of a tea mystery was new and it was the first novel or mystery I read centered in a tea room. I have traveled to Charleston many times, due to family in the area, and it is a mysterious, beautiful city.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a favorite and I've read them all. (except for Oolong Dead...I'm number 2 on the waiting list at the library. And just like a stalker, I'm watching the book on the Hold Shelf at my library. The patron hasn't picked up the book YET.) That series is responsible for opening up the world of tea for me. I have my cup of chocolate Florence by Harney and Sons right next to me.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any yet, but I would love to!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of the series but love tea AND mysteries! Please enter me to win a copy. Fun!
ReplyDeleteAngela- regarding the Shady Lawn Tea Room- I traveled Stewart Ave. aka (Metropolitan) from one end at (Central Ave in Hapeville) to the other end (Ralph David Abernathy)this afternoon and could not find the building. I didn't know I was going there today & I could not remember the address on the post card, but have a good idea where it may have been. Will be back in the area with camera in a few days. Will keep you posted! This is fun!
ReplyDeleteShades of Earl Grey was my favorite although I love them all.
ReplyDeleteI like all her books, but Shades of Earl Grey is my favorite. Haven't tried any of the recipes in the books though.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty new to the tea blogosphere, and just discovered this series earlier today. I grew up in SC and spent my college years in Charleston. Can't wait to start making my way through this series!
