I sprinkled sugar on about half of them and that made the treats even better. Only when I came back here to post my comment, did I see someone talking about 3 oz. of cream cheese. I guess I did not read the recipe very well and used 8 oz. of cream cheese! LOL I used a tiny bit of flour to roll them out. Now I will have to try them again and follow the recipe this time. :)No wonder I came out with more than the recipe states. The Sewing and Knitting Lofthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17312496842176950269noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2167015610970367792.post-48880251026883344922012-03-14T08:45:25.078-04:002012-03-14T08:45:25.078-04:00Your pastry recipe reminded me of apricot kolaky ...Your pastry recipe reminded me of apricot kolaky or apricot foldovers
which uses cream cheese, butter , and flour for the flaky crust.
Those vintage garden club recipes are keepers !Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07858785383017968912noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2167015610970367792.post-13000982533099613762012-03-12T22:27:03.564-04:002012-03-12T22:27:03.564-04:00what a treasure to come across this cookbook...the...what a treasure to come across this cookbook...these scones/pies look divine in my book!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18014271129136153337noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2167015610970367792.post-24052344879985347852012-03-12T21:40:57.658-04:002012-03-12T21:40:57.658-04:00I can taste the goodness right now! Like you, I thought the 8-ounce package would be too much along with a stick of butter and just a single cup of flour. Also, it seems like most older recipes used 3-ounce packages, so that's why I went with that--and fortunately it worked!Angela McRaehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10928913868086900802noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2167015610970367792.post-17723870821055233832012-03-12T13:37:26.265-04:002012-03-12T13:37:26.265-04:00I've been pouring over my tea books, including...I've been pouring over my tea books, including your 'Dainty Dining' & all my pinned scone recipes looking for one for my garden club tea coming up.
