A fun new matcha drink

So how do we feel about matcha, friends? I don’t think I’ve written about matcha in a while, and it’s a variety of tea that usually has to grow on me. But then I saw this Strawberry Shortcake Matcha at a local coffee shop, Leaf and Bean, and had to give it a try. I had skipped lunch, so I decided to order this tea and a blueberry scone, which of course were more than filling!

I rarely order an iced tea or coffee drink in a coffee shop, but I wanted to try this one, an iced matcha sweetened with white chocolate and topped with strawberry cold foam. I enjoyed experiencing the different layers of the drink as I sipped, and this was a fun departure from my usual coffee shop order, a London Fog. Have any of you tried a "mixed" matcha drink like this one?

  1. Looks interesting! I haven’t tried one like that but I’d be willing. I had some kind of lavender matcha cold drink at Starbucks a couple of years ago, and was underwhelmed but this sounds better. .(The London Fog sounds even better, though!)

  2. That's a pretty drink, with its different layers, and I'm glad you enjoyed it. I wouldn't try it, though, since I don't care for matcha and I'm sure that drink has way too much sugar for me! To each her own.

  3. Not a fan of just pure matcha but that drink looks interesting enough to try. All the lovely colored layers. I love scones. Great afternoon treat!

  4. I like matcha but I've never tried a mixed matcha drink. I usually make it myself. Maybe I'll experiment with a mixed drink.
