Those who are skeptical of the Sassafras, you should at least give it a try. It is wonderful. A taste of my childhood and it brings such good memories back. I am sitting here with a big mug in front of me as I type this. :)Sandy C.noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2167015610970367792.post-30633301666156216912011-04-21T14:57:58.319-04:002011-04-21T14:57:58.319-04:00Dear Angela,

We used to sell large chunks of the sassafras root, but are now only able to get small pieces. Because it is a root, you need to boil it to get the full flavor of sassafras, unless of course you have Pappy's concentrate!Rosemaryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03394597758723246533noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2167015610970367792.post-81905149198442212842011-04-13T21:51:29.567-04:002011-04-13T21:51:29.567-04:00I've seen this in the store before and wondere...I've seen this in the store before and wondered how it tasted. Pappys is a very down home and lovely family owned business. A group of our family - aunts, mom and I toured their facility a few years ago. We could not have asked for a more personal tour. It was wonderful. I have lived here all my life, and never realized what went on in that little building. It is a very small business and wonderful of you to mention it in your blog. They also have a delicious raspberry tea concentrate, if you are not a sassafras lover.
I can remember my father bringing home sassafras root and keeping it in the cupboard for our tea. In fifth grade, I snuck some root into my school desk because I loved the scent. I should have marketed some sassafras potpourri. Thanks so much for featuring a tea product made in the USA!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2167015610970367792.post-72670409570260044672011-04-13T08:52:34.466-04:002011-04-13T08:52:34.466-04:00I have that same teacup with forget-me-nots !I have that same teacup with forget-me-nots !Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07858785383017968912noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2167015610970367792.post-50972236992839829112011-04-13T08:23:10.415-04:002011-04-13T08:23:10.415-04:00I remember sassafras tea from my childhood in the ...I remember sassafras tea from my childhood in the 1950's. I associated it with the trips my grandparents made to visit cousins in Illinois - they would bring back sassafras root bark to share with us.
I think Mom saved and reused the bark after making a pot of tea - seems like it could be used several times.Ramona I.
