Surprises in the new issue of Daphne's Diary

Count me among the U. S. readers ready for Daphne's Diary to start offering subscriptions to those of us here in the states! I found a nice big stack of the new issue at Barnes and Noble this week, so apparently I'm not the only local fan of this magazine.

The recipe cards this time feature a French Onion Soup and a Mini Apple Tart. I had not thought about making individual-size tarts for teatime, but wouldn't these be lovely little treats for fall!

The papercrafting pages this time were plenteous, and I loved these little tags featuring old silverware. I can picture many uses for these tags!

This poem begins, "Tea with a cherry bun, Sitting under the warm sun, Listening to children laugh and shout, As they play and run about …"

And this coloring book freebie reminds me of something I've been meaning to ask you all: have you heard about this new trend of adult coloring books? (And let me be clear that I don't mean naughty coloring books but rather simply coloring books designed for grown-ups!)

I'm not sure I have much time to color, but can you guess what caught my eye in the Daphne's Diary coloring book? This is yet another great issue … but then, aren't they all?

  7. I love this Diary. I also wish a B&N were close by. I did find the last one at Michaels. Will have to check it out. Now a request: if anyone sees an area rug (round) with a tea pot/tea cup theme please post. I have been looking for one and have not found one. I would love one to go into our nook, under a round table.
    Thank you!

  8. I cannot wait until I get back near stores where I can find this book. It looks like so much fun. I told my friend in Atlanta about adult coloring books as she had never heard of them before. The next week I received 8 from her through Amazon. I have also seen them on ebay. I ordered a huge set of colored pencils on ebay that came from China so I will have lots of colors to use, however, I have not had time to sit down and just color. I feel I am just going to have to make myself sit down and do it one day. Thanks for sharing again. I look forward to a new adventure with you every day.

  9. I've heard of the adult coloring book trend. I would rather sew than color.

  10. I have heard of adult coloring books and recently purchased 2 at A. C. Moore (craft store) and also some colored pencils. I started coloring a butterfly picture and find it very relaxing and a great stress reliever! I have always loved to color when I was a a little girl and now it is a a great hobby.

  11. I too have not heard of adult coloring books - but with 2 little ones in the house while their Momma works, there are lots of crayons around - and I must admit I find it relaxing & fun - kinda can't stop til picture is done!

  12. Whenever you review this magazine I just want to run out and buy one. Yes, for coloring for adults, now if I only had time too. I keep saying maybe in winter.
