A new M.Z. Austria teacup

It's been a while since I splurged on a new teacup, so when I saw this $10 set at a local antique mall the other day, I thought, "Why not?"

I just love the pretty, lush roses and the soft green background.

The teacup is made by M.Z. Austria, about which I know barely a thing. I just know I liked its looks!

  1. What a pretty cup. Love the color.
And I am going to make the blueberry crumbles this week end...it is suppose to be cooler than the 100 degrees of today so I can then bake. Thanks for the recipe.

  2. Your new teacup is beautiful, Angela, and it's nice to have teacups that were made in other countries besides England.

  4. That is a lovely teacup and $10 is a pretty good price. What fun. Wonder what kind of tea you will fill it up with first?

  8. Here's some interesting info I found online: " Austria is the wording on a mark used by Moritz Zdekauer on porcelains made at his works in Altrolau, Austria, from 1884 to 1909. Zdekauer's company exported pieces to American and Dutch colonies before it was bought by another company. The mark was changed to MZ Altrolau in 1909, when the firm was purchased by C.M."
