SereniTea Liquid Organic Green Tea

Recently I received a press release and samples of a new product that sounded intriguing, this SereniTea green tea in single serving liquid packets.

According to the company, "SereniTea is harvested three times per year at the peak of freshness from the coveted Wuyi Mountains of China, and is made from the finest whole tea leaves. Once the leaves are dried through the patented extract process, they yield a rich liquid that when mixed with water provides consumers with an innovative beverage unlike any other on the market. A great option for the health-conscious, SereniTea is USDA certified organic and possesses double the antioxidants of a regular steeped tea due to its concentrated properties."

The single serve packets are obviously great for enjoying tea on the go, but I'm afraid I just didn't care for the taste. I tried it cold and it was so-so. Not bad, not too astringent, but it just didn't taste like much of anything. I tried making it with a smaller amount of water, thinking perhaps the taste would develop, but that didn't work either. I tried the tea hot and got the faintest, merest hint of something reminiscent of a woodsy oolong, but that was it. Again, the flavor just wasn't there. While I rather like the idea behind this product, which would be especially useful while traveling, the flavor was a disappointment. If you've tried this new tea yourself, please let me know what you thought!

  1. I made your Kaufman's nut bread for tea yesterday cut into slices and filled with a cream cheese and olive spread. I linked back to you in my post! The bread is delicious and those were the favorite sandwich of the tea!

  2. WELL.....I am wondering - and this sounds kind of wasteful - but since the health benefits outweigh the flavor so much, wondering if it would behoove us to just blend it with a favorite?

That way we get our fav flavor, but we also get the health benefits of this concentration?

    Your thoughts?

  7. Sounds interesting. At least it didn't taste bad.

  8. Perhaps the flavor was diminished somewhere during the process of making the tea concentrate. Great concept but "lost in translation"?

  9. I have to say I disagree with the comments of the Teas. I can say is that I love it and I have been a fans since it has come across my desk at work. My co-worker came to me and give me a sample of this tea which made me a great fan of it. I started to use it for my daily diet and it has done a great things for me. It comes in multiplie favors decaffinated and caffinated, and for a quick hot cup of tea I don't have to steep it at all I get my cup quickly in the morning. Being a mother of two every minute counts in the morning with the kids. I have implemented my love for tea overall in my daily routine and cut all soda drinks that I use it all the time hot and cold. I encourage everyone to explore it and taste it and see how great it is for you overall.

  10. I noticed this tea at the Natural Expo West convention in Anaheim a few months back and was very compelled to try this Sereni Tea, the convenience alone caught my attention considering I had to catch a flight out later that evening. For working women who are always on the go specially if you travel a lot Sereni Tea is a great alternative to Soda, and has more of kick with its peach green tea flavor compared to water. All in all I would suggest you try some for yourself and just throw a pack in your purse and notice how much it comes in handy.

Wow I read the review of this product and I must say, what I tried and tasted was the total opposite. This SereniTea is really good. It was so good I went back to Albertsons and Purchased all the favors. Maybe you should try it again. I tried the Green Tea Unsweented hot, the flavor was all over that one. They have a peach flavor that is to die for also.
