A heartwarming quilt shop find

While I'm still mourning the close of our quilt shop in downtown Newnan, I was delighted to come across the 1910 House Quilt Shop in Hogansville last month! I visited the town when it was still decorated for the holidays, and I found this quilt shop just lovely and filled with the floral fabrics I like so well.

Whenever I'm in a fabric store I'm also scanning for teatime prints, and this time I came across an utterly charming one called "Heart to Heart" by Kim Bowles for Marcus Brothers Textiles. This is a design that would appeal to those who love gardening as well as those who love tea, don't you think?

But here you can see what sold me on this fabric! What a fun imagination must have produced this heartwarming design!

  1. I think that would make a cute tablecloth (just hem the edges) for Valentines Day Tea!

  4. I love the imagination of the designer. Enjoy! Quilts and quilt shops are always so fun. I think I will head to a quilt show later this month and take along a little tea to drink too.

  5. Cute fabric. I've not seen that before. What did you make with the tea fabric you purchased last year that had words on it? I bought some intending to make an apron but haven't touched it yet. Maybe I should add that to my 2011 "to sew" list.

  6. Ginger, all I made with that fabric (so far!) was a single quilt block. I've decided I want to be sure I have at least one quilt block using every tea fabric I have -- then I can piece them together one day as sort of a "diary" of all my tea fabric finds!

  7. Anglea, I love your idea of using each of your tea themed fabric for quilt blocks. You'll have to share what you have made so far with us one day.

  9. Christine, the number for the quilt shop is (706) 637-6556 if you'd like to see if they will ship the fabric. You can also e-mail them at 1910house@bellsouth.net. And thanks for the heads-up on the cupcake liners -- I'll have to go look for them!
