New teas for Fall

It's amazing how much more hot tea I'm consuming now that the weather has turned chilly. (And as my DH and the electric company would tell you, I'm someone who finds anything under 80 degrees to be cold, so temps in the fifties and sixties mean it's practically freezing to me!) This weekend at Marshall's I picked up two new boxes of teabags to try, and I really enjoyed both of them.

The Maple Tea from Canada True took a couple of tries before I got it to my liking. The first full steeping of 5 minutes resulted in tea that was too strong and a bit bitter, but I tried it again steeped at three minutes and with a little sweetener and thought it was just right.

My favorite was this Caramel Peach Dessert Tea from Davidson's Teas, but then I have yet to try one of their dessert teas I did not like. The Davidson's tea was tasty and plenty sweet on its own, so I drunk it with no sweetener added and was quite satisfied.

  1. Those sound yummy! I saw some at Ross this past weekend but didn't buy any. Too many on my shelves at the moment. I may go back for some for Thanksgiving. We always have hot tea with dessert after the family dinner.

  2. You mentioned a very important point, Angela! As people try a new tea, it's a good idea to give it a few steeps - at different steep lengths (and with greens, even temperatures), until they find what is "just right" for them!
